The archaeologist Josep Beneyto found evidence of human settlements during this period in the Alt de la Cova de Canet, the Tossal of Llobero and in the Molló de les Mentires, the latter in the Serra de l’Ombria.
The famous geologist and paleontologist Juan Vilanova y Piera (1821-1893) conducted in Molló de les Mentires in 1867, what is considered as being the first scientific study of an archaeological site in Spain.
Over the centuries and with the migration movements, IBERIANS AND ROMANS passed through the lands of Aielo, leaving their mark on the archaeological remains, of which both were found over time, as in Bonavista and Cairent.
